If you've ever tried to make any sort of name for yourself on the internet, you'll understand how difficult it is to keep your head above the sea of endless posts. Google crawls so many websites with huge blogs of perfectly manufactured walls of text. Even on individual social medias, you have to fight against the armies of people with similar names and posts.
Obviously, originality is key, but too much originality will put you on a desert island all alone with no followers. Keeping an eye on what's new and trendy will keep you associated with things that are currently being searched, but then you risk being seen as desperate for clout. And being seen as overly desperate is a death sentence. It's a pain, isn't it?
When you google (or Bing) my name, I often only come up in 5-9th place. The results above me are all related to the anime Bleach!! When I started using the "Ichigo_42ga3" (and related) handles, Bleach wasn't running. Then it came back! Even worse, one of the songs the show uses is even called Monochrome! ARGH!!! How misfortunate! .·°՞(≧□≦)՞°·. ueeehh~ ueehhh~
Linking across my socials helps a ton though. Here's a tip: Every YouTube video is it's own page, and is indexed as so. Use that description box wisely!!!
Same with blogger posts, but not everything shows up. I'm not sure why, but pretty much no one does. Google keeps their secret sauce well hidden. Another thing to not forget: There are a wider variety of search engines than you know, search yourself in lots of places and then aggregate the data! In simpler words, just average it.
Google prioritizes itself. Bing crawls differently than google. Qwant is another search engine that works kind of strange. Excite is a Japanese search engine that doesn't do images, but pulls many webpages.
If you're just a regular person trying to get into content creation, marketing knowledge isn't going to be your expertise. Have a decent idea of who you want looking at your stuff. The easiest method is to create for people like yourself. So try to associate your presence with things you like.
Another sneaky method is to use Pinterest to link back to yourself. YouTube has a share to Pinterest option, and it links back and puts the thumbnail as the image. Heh heh heh... ദ്ദി ˉ͈̀꒳ˉ͈́ )✧ But that's all just back links and whatnot. It gets more complicated than this, but I'm not a trained professional.
Ummmm... Keywords are also pretty important. On here, I use both post labels, and the content of my posts to string together searchable sentences. I guess I should me speaking in the third person more so I can get my name on the net? Haha. ICHIGO MONOCHROME is gonna take over desu yooooooo!!! lol ew, it's kind of painful to do that. If you're doing YouTube this is what descriptions are for. YouTube responds a lot to description content, so put good stuff in there!! Things like this don't do much on Instagram. As for other sites, I don't have much experience. Or should I say, "ICHIGO MONOCHROME only has experience with Blogger, YouTube, Pinterest, and Instagram."?
Otayy bye-bii!!!!
