Wrapped season is approaching, I'm making self predictions.

WOE, SPOTIFY WRAPPED BE UPON YE.

Before the actual spotify/last.fm wrapped, yearly round up, whatever comes out, I want to try and guess what things are gonna be at the top of my listening histories. For sport.

I mostly use last.fm, so my Spotify wrapped is gonna look crazy. For the past year, I've mainly used it to listen to big American bands whose companies hate YouTube and whimsy.

So mainly Korn. I listened to Got The Life on repeat for like 2 weeks. I used to watch the music video but it got blocked in my country. Same with a lot of their music for some reason.

Idk why big music companies have been actively shitting on music videos as if it's not another already made form of passive money, but they have and that's had a strong influence on my Spotify usage.

Other than that, more recently I've been also using spotify to discover more music that hasn't been put into last.fm cleanly. Such as Klimperei, AmmaKasie Noka, and Pitbull Jones.

So for my Spotify predictions, I'll  go for

  1. Korn (especially got the life)
  2. Chevelle?
  3. Pitbull Jones
  4. Klimperei
  5. idk something electronic?

Now my last.fm I should have down pat. (even though there's so much more there) It should be mostly emo, and visual kei. Specifically Plastic Tree, Emmuree, Deadman, Thursday, Glassjaw, Finch, and Endive.
But also, an unholy amount of Blink182 and Crystal Castles should be making a strong appearance because their albums were some of the few that I had multiple albums in steady rotation. Especially Blink, I just know Dude Ranch hated to see me coming.
Pitbull Jones should also be nearing the top again.

But for my Last.fm predictions, I think

  1. Plastic Tree
  2. Emmuree
  3. Blink182
  4. emo band 1
  5. emo band 2
I don't have a specific vote for what emo band, I just know they'll be there...

I mainly wonder about how the genres will turn out (except for the obvious heavy rock lean) because I tried to stay top of my discovery leaderboard. Especially because I've been listening to way more music prepping for when the wrapped comes out.
Year wise, most of what I listen to tends to be from the mid 90s to the mid 2000s so the charts should say that too.

uh those are my predictions. I'll link back to this when I make my round up post and compare. Gootbye
