My first time trying decoden!!

Yesterday my friend invited me to this decoden place to hangout. I didn't know much about it before hand other than seeing some photos of those fake cake jewelry boxes on the internet, and those are really cute, but decoden wasn't something that came across any of my feeds or even something that I commonly heard referred to by name.

So after bubble tea and catching up, we entered the newly opened DekoDeko. The workers were really nice and they explained to us the process of choosing what we want to decorate off a menu, and then picking out our charms and what color "whipped cream" we want.

I picked out a few black and white charms to go on the hand mirror I picked out. They've got a good variety of charms there, but most of them are pastel. If you like sanrio they have a LOT of sanrio. Next time I go, I might bring a few of my own.

Me planning out what charms I'd like.

I've got a decent amount of real cake decorating experience, so the actual decorating process wasn't unfamiliar to me, but omg some of the smaller charms can be a pain! They give you a few different sizes of tweezers to help apply them with, but my grip really isn't made for tweezers.

I think I did pretty well for my first decoden! The slightly gothic design makes it really cute. I didn't use all the charms I originally picked out, so I wound up putting them back. The frame shaped charms were soooo pretty though. Next time I'll figure out how to incorporate more of them into my design...
